Figures |
Bernie painted and drew figures in art school, but has not worked with figures much since that time until the last 2 years. But is now again enjoying the challenge. She loves to paint from a live model, but also uses her imagination and two beautiful daughters as subjects in many of her figure paintings. |

Bernie loves to work with bright colors. She is sometimes inspired to do a painting when she sees a bouquet of flowers or a bowl of fruit or the combination of both. |

Bernie is proud to be a native of California. She grew up in Orange County and lives in the coastal town of San Clemente. There is an abundance of beautiful landscape to choose from almost every day. |

Saddleback |
Bernie is particularly fond of the Santa Ana Mountain range which runs along the Eastern side of Orange County. This mountain range is made up of Mojeska and Santiago Peaks. These two peaks are the highest points of what is called Saddleback Mountain Range. Because Bernie grew up in the so called “shadow of Saddleback”, she loves to paint this recognizable shape. In many of her paintings it is the main subject matter or just maybe as a motif in the background of others. |
